Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Network Operations, Marine Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • 5 years of experience in the marine Industry with marine repair coordination or ship operations management roles.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience in leading technical programs, project management with excellent cross-functional collaboration.
  • 5 years of experience in managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in submarine cable industry operation.
  • Excellent external organization/supplier network with insights into marine maintenance agreement structures and general system operation and maintenance.
  • Excellent communication and people management skills with the ability to think, identify opportunities to measure, improve operational outcomes.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

In this role, you will help define, design and deploy resources towards a coordinated plan embedded within the Google Global Networking and wider Google Cloud division. You will bring significant new resources into Google, stimulate slick, simplistic governance and drive a talent development program to ensure adequate succession planning and career development in this unique and specific part of the business.Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. Responsibilities

  • Responsible for regional maintenance planning, incident management and leading cable repair co-ordination. Work with repair authorities, ship operators, maintenance authorities, and outside related agencies and organizations.
  • Review of new cable systems handover from build to operate teams, ensure data quality, conduct live checks and maintenance solutions.
  • Represent Google’s interests in working groups and forums within consortium-owned cables, ensuring effective and efficient operational management of the shared assets.
  • Monitor and review performance of service providers, ensure maintenance service delivery is in quality and health and safety standards, and in compliance with agreement Service Level Agreement (SLAs).
  • Provide support and cover to Google’s global marine maintenance team outside of the region, as required.
