Maybe later, maybe later.
So guys, I would like to discuss the more emotional moments of the game. Everything involving Lana, "Do you see?", the breakups after the Crossroads choice, etc.
How successfully do you think DPC has executed these scenes, and how much does it impact your replays? Does the story positively benefit from the more mature, "darker" themes?

I thought everything around "Do you see" was really well done, and hit hard, especially with the flashbacks to where it was foreshadowed. The breakups were also good, but mostly the MJ one – I thought the others were less hard-hitting (or not hard-hitting at all).
On every playthrough, I still manage to feel a little broken inside when Josy turns up at Maya's room, and the bits that follow – seeing MJ at movie night, etc. – even if I think MC is overreacting. I take it as being more for the shock of it more than anything around "you cheated on me" or "you lied to me", it's more "how could I be so blind" ("no, I did
not see," to borrow from another part of the story).
Lana and Helen... fortunately, I have no close real-life experience with either of these, so maybe that's why they didn't really hit me that hard. Possibly also because they are still sort of "new", maybe when those stories have developed a bit they will be more impactful for me.
Overall though, yes, I think the writing of these scenes is well done, and their inclusion is definitely a benefit to the game. It's one of the things that elevates this above the majority of similar games.
